Safety management: Lockout/tagout and maintenance management procedures
1. Relevant personnel - Those who operate or use machines and equipment that need to be repaired under the Lockout/tagout program.
2. Person in charge - The person who can execute the Lockout/tagout program to repair equipment and machines.
3. Power separation device - A mechanical device that can prevent the transmission and release of power
4. Power - electrical energy, mechanical energy, hydraulic energy, pneumatic energy, chemical energy, thermal energy, etc.
5. Lockout - Apply the locking device to the power separation device to ensure that the mechanical equipment is controlled and no accidents occur.
6. Maintenance and Repair - Activities carried out in the workplace, such as: constructing, installing, setting up, adjusting, maintaining and repairing machines, including lubricating, cleaning and unclogging equipment and adjusting and replacing parts, etc.
7. Tagout - After the locking process is completed, it should be tagged accordingly on the power isolation device. The sign has two sides. One side reads: "Operated by someone. Do not close the switch." On the other side, write: Name of the signboard holder/Equipment location/operation time.
8. Locks and cards
All workshops and departments in the factory have at least one dedicated Lockout/tagout. Managers and maintenance personnel should have more Lockout/tagout to assist with Lockout/tagout. One device has more than one motor. It is required to provide the corresponding Lockout/tagout. Other related devices (such as valves) should also provide the corresponding locks and plates.
The Lockout/tagout of the workshop or department should be managed by the supervisor of the workshop or department or a dedicated person. Locks and tags should have detailed detailed files and usage records (the usage records should indicate the usage situation, time, and the person in charge of the usage). If the Lockout/tagout is lost or they cannot be used for some reason, report it to your supervisor immediately.
